The Institut français du Cameroun (IFC) is a cultural center located in Douala, Cameroon, and part of the worldwide network of French institutes. It was in 2012 that the François-Villon cultural center in Yaoundé and the Blaise Cendrars cultural center in Douala merged with the French Embassy's Service de Coopération et d'Action Culturelle to become the Institut français du Cameroun. Indeed, the IFC as an organization was constituted on January 1ᵉʳ, 2012, as part of a global reform of the cultural and cooperation network of the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs initiated by the law of July 27, 2010, replacing the French cultural activities in the country which, until then, had been united within the Culturesfrance association.
