Institut Français de Yaoundé

Exhibition on view

The Institut français du Cameroun (IFC) is a cultural establishment located in Cameroon and part of the worldwide network of French institutes. In 2012, the François-Villon cultural center in Yaoundé and the Blaise-Cendrars cultural center in Douala merged with the French Embassy's Service de Coopération et d'Action Culturelle to become the Institut français du Cameroun. Indeed, the IFC as an organization was set up on January 1, 2012, as part of a global reform of the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs' cultural and cooperation network initiated by the law of July 27, 2010, replacing the French cultural activities in the country that had previously been brought together within the Culturesfrance association.
