Artist Biography: Diarra Bousso Diarra Bousso, born and raised in Dakar, Senegal, is a visionary artist and entrepreneur who seamlessly merges her academic background in mathematics with her passion for art and fashion. She pursued higher education at Macalester College in Minnesota, where she majored in mathematics, economics, and statistics. After gaining experience on Wall Street as a bond trader, Bousso returned to Senegal to channel her creativity into establishing her brand, DIARRABLU. DIARRABLU and Artistic Vision Founded as a tribute to her African heritage, DIARRABLU integrates mathematical algorithms with traditional craftsmanship to create bold, sustainable, and innovative designs. Her works range from modular textile patterns to digital art and wearable pieces that bridge the gap between art and functionality. The brand promotes eco-conscious production and collaborates with artisans in Senegal, making it a global success with representation in major markets such as the U.S. and Europe. Recognition and Influence Diarra Bousso has showcased her work at New York Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week, gaining international acclaim for her ability to combine artistic intuition with mathematical precision. She has also represented Senegal at World Fashion Week Paris. She has taught mathematics at the International School of Dakar and pursued a master’s degree in math education at Stanford University.
