David Norocos is a visual artist born in Côte d'Ivoire. From the age of 8, he devoted his free time to learning, drawing and painting. After brilliant studies at the Lycée Moderne et Technique le Mahou in Abidjan, he entered the entrance exam for the Centre Culturel des Arts Appliqués (CTAA) and completed a 3-year course in textile design. On August 29, 2011, he obtained his diploma in textile design, and in 2013 he passed the entrance exam to the École Nationale des Beaux-Arts (ENBA) in Abidjan. He made a name for himself in painting and documentary studies, and was then directed to the communications section. In 2015, Ivorian television reported from his studio, and the local and international press followed. In 2016, he exhibited in Russia, in Angers, at the Domaine de la Constantinière in Soulaines/Aubance (49) in France. In 2017, he exhibited at the Musée des Civilisations de Côte d'Ivoire,2018 Hôtel Tiama Abidjan. In 2018, he exhibited at Abidjan airport (SITA), in Germany (Hamburg)and the Dak'art Senegal biennial. In 2019, he exhibits in art galleries in Canada and Morocco. In 2020, he becomes assistant manager of J.A.A in France, and exhibits at the Salon Arbuste in PARIS. In August 2020, he exhibits with the Belfort (90) town hall (place aux arts) France. From September to October 2020, he exhibits at Hérimoncourt (25310) France. 2021 at galerie Grosne France, Paris ,Honfleur and at offemont 90 town hall. With a unique technique, his works fall somewhere between abstraction and semi-figuration, yet he brings a sensitive touch to his favorite subjects. He expresses himself through African symbols, talismans and numerological codes, in both written and pictorial form.
