Born in 1989 in Mandjou-Bertoua, FOGANG TANEKWE Arnaud Trésor is a painter of Cameroonian origin. Under his artist's name “FOZOR”, he lives and works in Yaoundé. As a child, he quickly discovered his talent for drawing. To perfect this God-given gift, he took a three-month training course in the studio of the painter Bass. It was then that his passion for art really took off. He began studying fine arts at secondary school in 2005 at the Institut de Formation Artistique (IFA) in Mbalmayo. After obtaining his Baccalauréat, he continued his university studies at the Institut Supérieur du Sahel (ISS) in Maroua, then at the Institut des Beaux-arts (IBA) in Nkongsamba. He remains a great admirer of the chromatic touch of Paul Cézanne and Claude Monet, or the full naturalism of Vincent Van Gogh and Edward Munch. This enabled him to considerably enrich the colors of his palette, and to develop a love of portraiture. From then on, his artistic work and career path led him to take part in a number of exhibitions, workshops and competitions, some of which he won. His artistic research and experimentation have always led him to turn his attention to the idea of contemporary portraiture in his work. He often presents frozen, nostalgic portraits of women, full of emotion and richly colored, with the emphasis on the face. As well as other plastic elements that are the fruit of his imagination, inspired by his culture and his relationship with the digital, with the aim of bringing out all the expressive and active force emanating from the subjects he paints. What he often calls “Métissé Portraits” (mixed-race portraits) define his style, and have nothing to do with the genotype or the mixing of different varieties and races.
