Claire Marboeuf is a self-taught photographer and visual artist. Born in France, she lived in Morocco and then Ghana before settling in Côte d'Ivoire nearly ten years ago. She was introduced to photography in 2017 during an outing with the Flash Abidjan collective. After shooting, Claire Marboeuf transforms her black-and-white photos by adding paint, loincloths and various elements salvaged from her surroundings, turning them into veritable visual treasure hunts. Her creations playfully evoke a warm, vibrant humanity, recalling the richness of social ties and shared moments. A seasoned traveler, she takes a particularly accurate look at city life, capturing the warmth of neighborhood life amid the hustle and bustle of major metropolises. "I take photos like painting a picture". From New York to Abidjan, Claire Marboeuf gives life, relief and color to her shots to better transcribe the vitality of the inhabitants of these bustling cities.
