Lauriane Yougang (b. 1994, Douala) is a Cameroonian visual artist. She has several paintings to her credit, presented in three solo exhibitions, including one in 2015 and two in 2021. Lauriane Yougang is a Cameroonian visual artist born in 1994 in Douala. She works in ceramics and painting. Lauriane attended primary, secondary and higher education. In 2011, she progressively obtained the Certificat d'aptitude professionnel (CAP) in secretarial and office automation at the Lycée technique de Nylon in Douala, in 2015 the baccalauréat AF1 option céramique at the Institut de formation artistique (IFA) in Mbalmayo and in 2019 a licence in plastic arts and art history at the University of Yaoundé I. Projects and exhibitions: In 2015, she presented Extraire de matière followed by Dynamique lyrique, and Altérabilité in 2021 highlighting feminism in a society in which phallocracy continues to reign. From 2016 to 2019, she takes part in several artistic encounters. In 2017, she took part in the Femme Actuelle exhibition at the University of Yaoundé I. In 2018, she took part in three exhibitions, the first of which Sur l'esplanade des rencontres at the Libre académie des beaux-arts de Douala5 was held to mark the 71st anniversary of the Italian Republic and in line with the launch of the CAM'ON cultural project. The second was the first edition of Douala Art Fair, a fair promoting contemporary art in Africa; and the third was the tenth edition of RAVY. In 2019, she takes part in the second edition of Douala Art Fair, in the Extase exhibition in Yaoundé, in the third edition of Annie art days under the theme Un pour tous et tous pour un organized by AKA gallery under the sign of the commemoration of art. Finally, the same year, at the Masque à masque exhibition after a workshop led by Koko Komégné alongside Aurelie Djiena, Winnie Songmene, Lydie Daniellle Gnyndon and Leuna Noumbimboo, all members of New Spirit. In 2020, she is working on a project to build a kiln for firing ceramic objects.
