Attandi Trawalley (b. 1996, Pretoria, South Africa) is a South African multidisciplinary artist. A graduate of the Villa Arson in Nice, she develops her artistic work at the crossroads of installation, performance, sculpture, image and publishing. She is interested in practices of self-care and self-appropriation, and in notions of transmission and everyday gestures, through an exploration of black female subjectivities and fragmented family narratives. In assembling her work, Attandi raises questions about an individual's sense of self inside and outside the collective. In 2023, she presented her first solo exhibition “Care as a Color” at the Consulat Voltaire. Her work has been included in numerous group exhibitions, including: “Terminus Mutations”, La Villa Arson, Nice, France (2022); “Postcorps”, Centre de Création Contemporaine Olivier Debré, Tours, France (2022); “Gestuelle émotive: vestige de soi”, Galerie le génie de la Bastille, Paris, France (2021); Centre Wallonie, Brussels, Belgium (2021); LABO DÉMO FERMÉ 24/24 7/7 Paris, France (2021); Straight Lick - digital exhibition (2020); She will also take part in the “100%” exhibition at La Villette in Paris in March 2024. Trawalley lives and works in Paris, France. Source : https://fr.selebe-yoon.com/residency/attanditrawalley
