The McCord Stewart Museum, in collaboration with the Afropolitain Nomad Festival, is organizing a discussion on Saturday February 8, 2025 from 6 p.m. at the J. Armand Bombardier Theater of the McCord Stewart Museum in Montreal, Canada, as part of the festival's creative residency.
During this discussion, the two curators in residency – the Canadian artist Natasha Kanapé Fontaine and the Cameroonian curator Louise Abomba – will discuss the central themes of their work: sorority, traditional rites and ancestral knowledge. The discussion will also focus on their creative processes centered on the rites and traditions of participants from several cultures to design this immersive work.
The discussion will be moderated by Vanessa Kanga, the founder of the Afropolitain Nomad Festival.
Come discover the world of Sacred Sorority, a multidisciplinary artistic exploration celebrating the deep and spiritual bonds between women through dance, music, photography, video and an immersive installation.
The activity is free. To participate, reserve your place at this link.
