Abdias Ngateu was born in 1990. He lives and works in Douala. His interest in drawing and graphic art began at an early age, with training in graphic and decorative arts from the age of 14. His work in the studio of teacher and visual artist Achille Kà in 2009, as a prelude to SUD (Salon Urbain de Douala) 2010, and later the same year in that of painter Merlin Tefolo, prompted him to embark on an artistic career. The idea for her installation-performance was born of a desire to campaign against violence against women around the world. Using sandbags and constant interaction with the public, boxer Abdias questions the relationship between men and women in various cultural environments.
