Born in 1988 in Kinshasa (DRC). Lives in Kinshasa. Lives in Kinshasa. Amani Bodo is the youngest son of the late Pierre Bodo (1953-2015). Very gifted at drawing, young Amani discovered his vocation at an early age. He began painting at the age of ten, sold his first canvas at 16, began making a living as an artist at 20 and joined the famous Pigozzi collection at 21. After trying his hand at the popular style, he found his way into figurative and symbolic painting with surrealist overtones, nourished by his family's artistic universe. On canvas, he stages his ideas and visions. Alongside this serious and grave production, he also produces playful works, in which irony vies with burlesque. Amani is a master at painting Congolese sapeurs. The background of his paintings is a precipitate of speckled color, a cosmic nebula that catches the eye and contributes to the brilliance and mystery of his works. Amani is regularly exhibited at fairs in Europe and presented in auction rooms. https://galerie-angalia.com/fr/artistes-visuels-du-congo-kinshasa/amani-bodo/
