Mugabo Baritegera is a visual artist born in 1990 in Goma, in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo. To give free rein to his imagination with passion, his work remains open to a multiplicity of artistic practices, including photography, painting, video installation and cinema. Inspired by urban space and street art forms of expression, Mugabo is dedicated to the issues of restoring Congolese cultural heritage and decolonization as both a structural and mental process. Demonstrating an artistic commitment conscious of its political implications, he is the founder of the cultural center Ndoto art activism.
