Chinedu Chidebe born in September 1998 in Onitsha, Anambra state, Nigeria; Is a graduating student of the university of Nigeria Nsukka, Enugu state (painting major). His love and enthusiasm for art has been evident from a very young age. Growing up in an environment where a lot of people don’t value art, he had a lot of challenges keeping up with his practice until 2016 when he made the decision to study fine art in the university. He has achieved a level of mastery in drawing, working primarily with graphite and charcoal pencil to create highly detailed drawing. Recently, he has went on to introduce other mediums into his work process. He has been strongly influenced by artists like Jean Michael Basquiat, Ken Nwadiogbu, Arinze Stanley. Working on the genre of art known as hyperrealism and contempo-realism (coined by ken nwadiogbu) his works centers on themes about identity, mental issues, human existence with being judged and other societal issues he draws inspiration from. He begins his work creation from a formalized point of view and goes on to construct narratives using figures and faces of African descent where he presents his subjects in haunting/questionable poses.
