Espace Medina is an art space and workshop located in Dakar, Senegal. Located in the TRAORE family house, Espace Medina is a space for art and culture infused by schools of thought from different generations since the 60s, having thus contributed to punctuating the cultural and artistic history of Senegal. It is a place of life and memories, open to contemporary creation, and has earned its reputation by introducing an artist collective from 1998 to 2010, with Moussa Traoré, Sayo Camara, Khassim Mbaye, and the late Aladji Koné. Now, Espace Medina’s renewal has been initiated by Moussa and Cheikha, surrounded by young creators from Dakar and elsewhere. It is a mythical and dynamic setting that has been redeveloped into a versatile and modular place with a work studio, an art gallery, and a residence and artistic transit site.
