He self trained through workshops and artist residencies then later got numerous opportunities to sharpen skill at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Nigeria. He invests alot in travel which has helped him appreciate the rich Afican culture and beauty. His practice leads him towards the mixed-media technique with collages and installations. Lionel recognizes that he is searching for himself through his creations. His personality is revealed with his vigorous brushstrokes.
