AUSTINE ADIKA KENYAN, Born in 1986 Austin Adika creates intriguing and strange alien-like sculptures. Combining unlikely materials and colours and surprising spatial arrangements, his composite forms relate to everyday life whilst also reaching beyond themselves. Adika's practice moves between material and medium in response to the times and spaces that he inhabits. Using carving, casting, welding and assemblage, elements of traditional sculptural methods combine with aspects of his training as a woodworker, metal smith and furniture maker. Adika's work featured in the group exhibition Various Small Fires, Circle Art Gallery, 2021.
