Nebay Abraha was born in Eritrea in 1996. Like various Eritrean artists he is a self - taught artist, at a young age he was able to host two exhibitions along with his mate in Asmara, which encouraged and opened a wide door in his pursuit of becoming known for his portrait artworks, and colourful collages. By the end of 2018, he moved to Addis Ababa, and the self-imposed exile was a catalyst for creativity. His efforts in the field expanded once he saw the opportunities there. Subsequently, he was able to host an exhibition themed ``Ethio-Eritrea`` in June 2019 at the Fendika cultural centre in collaboration with an Ethiopian artist (Berhan Beyene ) . Since then he has participated in several art exhibitions. In 2020 he moved to South Sudan and has been hosting solo and group exhibitions. In 2021 he took the opportunity to participate in group shows in Nairobi. As an artist and fellow immigrant, he expresses these challenges of young immigrants and different community lifestyles through painting by creating and reflecting emotions or lifestyles of different communities. This can be loneliness, depression, anxiety due to the loss of family love and relations or physical and emotional assaults; prejudice they went through as they join a new community, or on the contrary the happiness, love and unity. The theme he is currently exploding is in expressing these feelings of isolation, sadness and sorrow by telling the story of these young immigrants. He uses newspapers and recycled papers to create his art pieces. All his art is in creating impressive figures to convey his message.
