Dara Art Gallery

Exhibition on view

Dara Art Gallery is a Sudanese art gallery founded in late 1999 by artists Rashid Diab and Mercedes Carmona in their home in Khartoum. Their vision was to create a space where Sudanese artists could exhibit their work professionally. Since its opening, the gallery has welcomed many great Sudanese artists, including Ibrahim Al-Salahi , Yassir Abu-El-Haram , Hussein Gamaan , Ahmad Mohamad Shibrain and many others. Of course, over the years, Rashid Diab and Mercedes Carmona have also exhibited their works in the gallery, and you can still find them on display today. In the early 2000s, painting classes were offered by Mercedes, and the works created in these classes have also been exhibited over the years. In 2005, Rashid Diab opened the Rashid Diab Arts Centre. This space was then used to support the opportunities offered to Sudanese artists by the Dara Art Gallery.
